rarely read books outside my preferred genres, I tend to stick to chick lit and romance novels, but a friend recommended this book to me and was very insistent that I read it. She spoke very highly of it and described it as intense and scary how the events in the story could possibly mimic real life, which of course peaked my interest. I am so glad I gave this book a chance. It was an easy read despite the serious topic of the story line. With the effortless flow of chemistry between the characters personality you could see that the author had put much effort into the development of each character. I’m really looking forward to the next installment of the series and I hope to see more books from this author (maybe a James Tillman series!)Product details

I really enjoyed the first installment "Free Fall" of the Marcus King series. Love M.P. Zorn's writing style and character makeup. The author is very well informed about current politics, business, the stock market and a "potential evilness" this great nation could fall under. Looking forward to the next (3) installments with great curiosity where the Omega Group is going and what they might be capable of doing!!!!
Great book!! Extremely descriptive. Author is obviously writing about things well known or very well researched. A good primer for those of us who don't know a lot about the inner workings of financial markets. Good story of good vs evil without a lot of blood and guts.
It won't be fast enough. Zorn has fashioned a new genre, the financial thriller and in Free Fall he lays waste to the idea that high finance is too complex to be anything but dry and boring. He presents the technical bits with clarity as his keenly crafted story and characters keep you zipping through the pages. Breathlessly paced, Zorn's relentless forward momentum keeps you hanging on every beat. This promises to be an addictive series that will fire your anticipation for the next book. And the next. Remarkable work.
I couldn't put this book down although the story was so unexpected. Economic terrorism is not a genre of reading that I would be normally drawn to since I'm usually confounded by the stock market or anything to do with finance. But M.P. Zorn skillfully managed to explain it in a manner that was understandable enough for me to jump right into the story and get swept up in this fast paced, page-turning thriller. His characters are strong and well-developed and I can't wait to see them in the next installment of the Marcus King series. Kudos to Mr. Zorn for a compelling story that makes us stop and think about a different type of terror!
I wasn't sure I would like the story line, as I usually gravitate in a different direction but I have to say I enjoyed this book. It kept me on edge, wanting to know what was going to happen next. I completed it in less than a week because I couldn't put it down. I would definitely read another book by MPZ. Can't wait to see where he goes from here!
Lots of information in this one that points out the real-world vulnerability of our current economic state of the union. This is “Aftershock” put into the form of a novel. It’s a good read but rather frightening when you realize this doesn’t really have to be fiction; it could be happening right this moment. The idea that there might be an “Omega Group” pulling the financial strings of a “New World Order” has been bandied about for years. M.P. Zorn puts a face to those possible people and examines how their motivations and subsequent intentions might evolve over time. It will also be interesting to see how Marcus King evolves in future installments.
A tale of national, financial and subversive intrigue by an author I have known since childhood. Matt has always been driven to attain personal heights and this story is but one of them. I am sure that with time, experience and mild polish he will be among the ranks of Bsldacci, Silva, Coes, and Thor to name a few of the greats. Your good friend Jared will read it next.
